Denise Sinankwa is an Economist, she holds the Diploma of Higher Studies in Banking from the National Conservatory of Arts and Trades in Paris-France (1993), and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Burundi (1980).
She has been Senior Adviser for Economic Affairs at the Presidency of the Republic of Burundi since July 2013. Minister of Finance from September 2006 to July 2007 and Minister of Trade and Industry from August 2005 to September 2006. She served as General Manager of PETROBU Fuels Trading Company, from February 2001 to August 2005, CFO of the logging company (SEF) in Cameroon from August 1995 to November 2000 and senior manager in several financial and industrial institutions in her country.
Since October 2014, Denise Sinankwa is President of the Economic and Social Council of Burundi.
